Our Commitements

Chandrakant Mokal, President, Maharashtra State Mango Growers Association (MSMGA)

In Konkan Region in the Districts of Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Thane, Palghar at large scale Alphonso Mangoes and Cashew-nuts are grown up, out of these Districts mainly in Raigad and Palghar Districts all kinds of horticulture farming is done. North side of Palghar District is highly popular for the production of  Sapodilla (Chickoo).

In order to solve the problems of these farmers Maharashtra State Mango Growers Association (MSMGA) has been working actively since last 20 years. Here we humbly state that along with the Horticulture Farmers and other farmers also we have been extending our help. We have been placing their problems with State and Central Government and we are also reaching to these farmers with the different schemes of Governments.

We are trying our level best to these farmers away from APMC Markets and encouraging them their produce to sell their produce under the concept of 'Producer to Consumer' and this help them for easy sale of their produce at Retail markets as well to the Tourist destinations of our country.

Due to environmental imbalance farmers are facing serious problems and hence it is highly needed that the State and Central Governments to take appropriate initiative.

We are trying our level best to provide the advantage through Governments, the facilities like fertilizers, packaging, packhouse, transportation, refervan, cold chain and warehousing so that these farmers would be in position to sell their produce safely and at earliest possible time.

Farmers are able to buy the Agricultural equipments required for their activities at subsidiaries rates at the same time the resources like solar energy and water pumps functions in poor manner and we are taking good efforts to streamline these resources for the farmers so that they can continue with their activities without any interruption.

Sometimes the subsidy factor of Government is functioning in disrupted manner, while we have dialogue with Government Agencies and try to streamline the issues, by these manufacturing companies and farmers both are getting benefitted.

We are obtaining the assistance of Central Government's STC, ECGC, APEDA, SPICE BOARD and also of State Government marketing board for effective exports of the goods of farmers.

It is further to be noted that compare to Air Cargo Transport, Shipping Exports are economical and so we follow up with the Shipping Ministry.

Since, last four to five years Alphonso Mangoes and other fruits are being transported by sea.

In our country the food processing industry is at very low level. Similarly in Konkan Region and in the other area of Maharashtra State for Mango Pulp, the processing units are in very small numbers.

To sort out this issue we are taking great efforts to establish and introduce the large scale companies so that Mango Pulp Industry would get shaped up properly.

Such kind of activities would boost up the Horticulture Sector and by this the farmers will also prosper.
